Dr Mohammad Javad Koohsari

PhD

Dr Koohsari is Assistant Professor at Faculty of Sport Sciences at Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan. As an urban designer, his research focuses on how built environment attributes can contribute to population health, especially in the context of super-aged societies. His recent works examine the effects of urban design attributes on cardiovascular disease risk factors.

He holds honorary positions at the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, The University of Melbourne, Melbourne, Australia and at Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute, Melbourne, Australia.

He has published over 70 peer-reviewed articles in urban design, public health, and geography journals.
