I have a Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. I did my Master’s at Charles Sturt University, Australia on developing a new test for measuring vitamin B12 absorption and detection of pernicious anaemia. Afterwards I moved to Sweden where I worked as a pre-doctoral researcher at the Wallenberg Lab for Cardiovascular and Metabolic Research (Sahlgrenska University Hospital). I came back to Australia to start my PhD at the Baker Institute's Metabolomics laboratory.
My research is focusing on the role of Plasmalogen in metabolic diseases and the potential of plasmalogen modulation as a therapeutic for metabolic diseases.
