As the Manager, Strategic Relationships, you will drive the delivery of our strategic partnerships program, supporting the Baker Institute in our fight against heart disease and diabetes. Your primary purpose will be to identify, secure, and service partnerships — ensuring partner needs are met and the full potential for revenue, brand awareness, and expertise is realised.

How this role makes a difference

You’ll play a vital role in advancing the Baker Institute’s aim to tackle heart disease and diabetes. By building and nurturing strategic partnerships, you’ll unlock new opportunities for funding, innovation, and community impact. Your efforts will maximise revenue, boost brand awareness, and support life-changing research — empowering communities to live healthier, longer lives. Every partnership you create brings us closer to a future free from cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

You will become a valued member of our dynamic team at the Institute. Through this key role, you can contribute to our vision to help people to live healthier for longer, and to stop heart disease and diabetes in their tracks.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Build and manage a diverse portfolio of corporate partnerships aligned with business and social impact objectives.
  • Develop pitch presentations, proposals, and marketing collateral.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to grow “trusted brands” and commercialisation opportunities.
  • Create compelling communications for partners and stakeholders.
  • Meet annual revenue targets and monitor partnership performance.
  • Ensure servicing of partnership agreements and coordinate legal contracts.
  • Represent the Institute at external events and develop collaborative relationships.

What will you bring?

Education and Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business/management, marketing, fundraising, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in fundraising or corporate partnerships within the not-for-profit sector.
  • Experience in marketing communications, sponsorship, and B2B relationship management.

Skills and Abilities

  • High-level interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to develop pitches, negotiate, and manage relationships.
  • Proactive, can-do attitude and ability to work both autonomously and in a team.
  • Understanding of ESG, marketing, and sponsorship principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Salesforce experience highly valued.
