Aaron Jurrjens

BSc(Hons)

Aaron completed his Bachelor of Science (Honours) at the Baker Institute in 2019. During this time, he developed an interest in the discovery and validation of novel molecular targets that regulate lipid metabolism.

Subsequently, Aaron is undertaking a PhD at the Baker Institute, jointly in the Lipid Metabolism and Cardiometabolic Disease laboratory and the Metabolomics laboratory. His studies will focus on hepatic and cardiac lipid metabolism and will involve the preclinical characterisation of novel regulators of cardiometabolic disease identified from multi-omics screening of the Hybrid Mouse Diversity Panel in collaboration with the University of California, Los Angeles. This approach will contribute to the understanding of the mechanisms underpinning cardiometabolic disease and may provide novel insights into potential disease-related biomarkers and therapeutic opportunities.
