The opportunity

Join a passionate, world-class team at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute, where your ideas, energy, and drive will directly help change lives through cutting-edge medical research.

We're on the hunt for a creative relationship-builder who knows how to juggle multiple priorities, keep people on track, and bring energy and vision to donor experiences that truly stick.

If you thrive on thinking outside the box, love working with people, and want to grow your career in philanthropy, events, or stakeholder engagement — this is for you.

How you will make a difference

This role supports the Senior Manager, Philanthropy and the broader philanthropy team with high-level stakeholder management. It’s a varied role with the opportunity to be creative, coordinating a number of key events, programs and projects as well as administration tasks as required.

You'll be the linchpin for a small, tight-knit philanthropy team — think of yourself as the conductor of the orchestra, making sure everyone’s playing in harmony.

You will become a valued member of our innovative team at the Institute. Through this key role, you can contribute to our vision to help people to live healthier for longer, and to stop heart disease and diabetes in their tracks.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Partner with Relationship Managers to keep donor engagement on track — managing timelines, pulling profiles, and supporting smart cultivation strategies.
  • Dream up and delivering awesome stewardship experiences — from heartfelt impact reports to memorable donor events.
  • Scout potential new donors from within our supporter base and beyond. Your detective skills will help grow our community.
  • Keep things running smoothly behind the scenes — managing databases, creating dashboards, and helping streamline workflows.
  • Coordinate standout events that connect and inspire — whether that’s intimate gatherings, behind-the-scenes tours, or large-scale impact moments.
  • Support a passionate team that loves what they do — and helping them do it even better.

What will you bring?

  • A degree or a solid combination of experience and training in a relevant area (comms, business, events, nonprofit, fundraising — you name it).
  • You’ve worked with stakeholders from all walks of life and you know how to keep them engaged and informed.
  • You’ve got a knack for events, content creation, project coordination, or donor/customer service — and ideally all of the above.
  • Your comms game (written + verbal) is strong. You can write a killer email, present confidently, and talk to just about anyone.
  • You’ve worked with CRMs or databases and know your way around spreadsheets, lists, and tracking systems.
  • You’re super organised and love setting up systems that make everyone’s life easier.

Why join us?
