Dr Scott Maxwell

BSc(Hons), RMIT | PhD, Monash University

Scott Maxwell is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Epigenetics in Human Health and Disease lab. He is a molecular biologist and bioinformatician specializing in epigenetic research using genome, epigenome and transcriptome wide sequencing technologies including single-cell analysis.

Scott completed his BAppSci(Hons) in Pharmaceutical Science through RMIT and later earned a PhD in Epigenetics (Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics) in conjunction with Monash University and the Baker Heart Research Institute profiling the methyl binding domain protein MeCP2.

His current activities include the general analysis of large laboratory data sets, performance of contemporary sequencing techniques and has a specific focus on DNA methylation and epigenetic biomarker discovery for diabetes and kidney disease.
