Mr Fergus Sully

Bachelor of Exercise & Sports Science(Honours, Sports Cardiology)

I was first introduced to the lab through participation in the Pro@Heart study, and have now been lucky enough to conduct my Honours project under André La Gerche (following an undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sports Science at Deakin University). Coming from an endurance sport background (road cycling), I have a strong interest in short and long-term adaptations associated with endurance training, and I am passionate about the work conducted in the Sports Cardiology Laboratory.

I am currently pursuing entry into Postgraduate Medicine, while continuing involvement in the lab. My current focus is on “funny channel” (If) remodelling of the heart and the contribution of structural cardiac changes to bradycardia and other conditions in athletes.
